24 Dec 2024
NewsSaudi Arabia has introduced an innovative emergency medical service model, the "motorcycle ambulance," in Medina to enhance response times and healthcare service quality.
The initiative was inaugurated by Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Medina Region, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Zahrani, Director of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority’s Medina branch, along with other senior leaders of the organization.
This new model segments Medina into geographical zones based on anticipated demand, ensuring faster response times by medical teams to emergency situations. The goal is to improve the efficiency of emergency services, particularly in areas with heavy traffic or crowded locations.
The motorcycle ambulances, designed to maneuver through traffic more effectively, are equipped with advanced medical tools. While these motorcycles provide rapid access to patients, traditional ambulances remain the primary means of patient transport. The medical professionals operating the motorcycles are highly trained to deliver immediate care and coordinate further medical assistance as needed.
