In a major step toward the Kingdom's readiness to host the international event, Saudi Arabia has formally submitted the Registration Dossier for World Expo 2030 Riyadh to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).
Presented to BIE Secretary General Dimitri Kerkentzes by Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to France, Fahad Al-Ruwaily, the dossier is an essential condition for planning the World Expo.
If this agreement is approved by the BIE General Assembly, Saudi Arabia will be officially recognized as the Expo 2030 Riyadh organizer.
The Expo's comprehensive plan, including operational schedules, financial and legal measures, the Expo site Master Plan, international participation requirements, and long-term legacy initiatives, is laid out in the Registration Dossier, which was prepared in close coordination with the BIE Secretariat.
Saudi Arabia has now moved into the formalization stage of their Expo project after being chosen as the host nation for World Expo 2030 at the 173rd BIE General Assembly on November 28, 2023.
Following the approval of the dossier by BIE member nations, Saudi Arabia will be able to start full-scale preparations and send diplomatic invitations to foreign participants, opening the road for Expo 2030 Riyadh's formal registration.
