Saudi Arabia Railways will operate a total of 3800 trips of Haramain High Speed Train to transport pilgrims during Hajj season

During the current Hajj season, Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) will run the Haramain High Speed Train on a total of 3800 journeys in order to carry pilgrims. To handle the high number of pilgrims this year, the number of seats has been increased to 1.6 million.

By disclosing its operating strategy for the Hajj season, SAR declared that the Haramain Train was prepared to welcome the visitors of God. The King Abdulaziz International Airport station in Jeddah, the King Abdullah Economic City Station, and the main Jeddah station in the Sulaymaniyah neighborhood are the three stations along the 453-kilometer Haramain Train line that connects Makkah and Madinah.

According to the operating plan, there will be 100,000 more pilgrim seats available than there were the previous year—1.6 million seats total. This rise is due to the fact that last year's travels were increased by more than 430, totaling 3,800 journeys throughout the planned time from Dhul Qada 1, or May 9, to Dhul Hijjah 19, or June 25, bringing the total number of trips on peak days to 126.

At 300 kilometers per hour, the Haramain High Speed Train ranks among the top ten fastest passenger trains in the world. It has 35 trains in its fleet, each of which can hold 417 passengers. Along with being carbon neutral, the train also plays a major part in maintaining the road infrastructure by taking thousands of buses off the road.
