Saudi Arabia ranked first globally in the Government Strategy Index for Artificial Intelligence

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first position in the world in the Government Strategy Index for Artificial Intelligence, one of the indications of Tortoise Intelligence's worldwide categorization of artificial intelligence. The company assesses over 60 nations worldwide. Germany and China came in second and third place, respectively.

The worldwide artificial intelligence ranking includes over 100 variables divided into seven sub-pillars: government strategy, research and development, talent, infrastructure, operational environment, and commercial. The Kingdom ranked first in the Government Strategy Index for Artificial Intelligence and 31st in the total classification indicators published by Tortoise, a global company with a global advisory board comprised of artificial intelligence experts from around the world.

The Kingdom has accomplished an incredible accomplishment by earning 100% in all index categories relating to artificial intelligence. This includes the establishment of the Kingdom's National Strategy for Data and AI (NSDAI), the presence of a dedicated government authority for artificial intelligence, the allocation of funding and budget for AI initiatives, and the formulation and monitoring of national AI targets.

The Kingdom has shown a strong dedication to creating artificial intelligence from its inception. A Royal Order was issued in 1440 AH to establish the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) as the principal authority in charge of organising, developing, and supervising all AI-related activities. The SDAIA oversaw national strategies for data and artificial intelligence to accomplish Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman's, chairman of the SDAIA Board of Directors, goals and the Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.
