NewsAccording to the World Tourism Organization's most recent report, Saudi Arabia placed second in the world in terms of the growth rate of visitor arrivals during the first seven months of 2023. The Kingdom had a 58 percent increase over the same time in 2019, as per the World Tourism Organization's UNWTO Barometer, which was released last month. These results follow the Kingdom's outstanding achievements in the tourism sector and its leadership role on the global stage in this vital sector, the most recent of which was the Kingdom's hosting of World Tourism Day activities in Riyadh on September 27 and 28.
This incredible feat was achieved by the Saudi tourist sector with the Saudi government's strong backing. Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb stated that these achievements would not have been possible without the unprecedented support provided to the tourism sector by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, as well as the follow-up and attention provided by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
It is worth noting that these accomplishments strengthen the Kingdom's position as a premier global tourist destination, since the large growth in the number of arriving tourists indicates travellers' trust in the Kingdom's appealing tourism alternatives and the breadth of their variety.
