Saudi Arabia ranked third globally in terms of countries sending international remittances

In terms of countries remitting money abroad in 2023, Saudi Arabia came in second in the Arab world and third overall. Over the course of the previous year, outward remittances totaled around SR 144 billion ($38.4 billion). 

Money that immigrants send back to their relatives or communities in their nation of origin is known as a foreign remittance. 

In a recent World Bank study titled "Migration and Development Brief," the US ranked first among all nations in the world for sending international remittances, with total external remittance flows estimated to reach around $85.8 billion in 2023.
