Saudi Arabia’s Communications, Space and Technology Commission launched a program designed to empower and develop national capabilities in the space sector

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission of Saudi Arabia started a program on Tuesday with the goal of strengthening and expanding the country's capabilities in the space industry. According to officials, the goal of the Madarik program, which will be implemented in partnership with specialized international institutions from May 5 to August 15, is to create a sustainable future for the industry by utilizing the expertise of industry partners to create career pathways for Saudi nationals. The program's objective is to provide participants with a solid grounding in the space sciences so they may embark on their journey of skill development and contribute to the expansion of the space industry in the country.

Al-Yamama University in Riyadh serves as an educational partner for the program, which was developed in collaboration with the International Space University in France, the Georgia Institute of Technology, the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona, and BAE Systems Saudi Development and Training, according to the commission.

The courses will be offered digitally to registered learners across the Kingdom, with in-person sessions held in Jeddah and Riyadh. Recent graduates and professionals selected for the program will follow one of three specialized tracks, according to the commission. Space business development seeks out professionals with backgrounds in economics, law, strategy, and business administration.

Those with expertise in cybersecurity, data science, data engineering, and computer science should enroll in the space data and software program. Those with qualifications in engineering fields are eligible for the space engineering program. The commission stated that in addition to being Saudi nationals and possessing a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, applicants for the Madarik program must also be fluent in English and fulfill all other registration conditions.
