The first hydrogen-powered bus in the Kingdom was officially opened Thursday by Al-Ahsa Gov. Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr in front of Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, the acting chairman of the Saudi Public Transport Authority and deputy minister of transportation and logistics.
The bus, which has a capacity of 45 passengers and can go up to 635 miles on a single charge, will make the 359-kilometer daily journey from Dammam to Al-Ahsa. This is a component of SAPTCO ALSA for Transportation's intercity transport services, which were awarded the Southern region's concession.
