Saudi Arabia's population was 35.3 million as of mid 2024

The population of Saudi Arabia was 35.3 million as of mid-2024. Of the overall population, 55.6 percent are Saudi citizens and 44.4 percent are non-Saudis, according to the most recent estimates from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT). The population has increased by 1.6 million people annually, with a growth rate of 4.7 percent from mid-2023 to mid-2024. In comparison to the base period in May 2022, the annual growth rate was 4.6%.

According to the authority report, the number of Saudis surpassed 19.6 million by the middle of 2024, growing at an annual rate of 2% from 19.3 million in the middle of 2023. Meanwhile, the number of non-Saudis reached almost 15.7 million by the middle of last year, up from 14.5 million until the middle of 2023.

According to the GASTAT estimates, the Saudi population was responsible for 24.4 percent of the yearly population growth over the one-year estimated period, while non-Saudis accounted for 75.6 percent. The male population grew by 70.8 percent annually between the middle of 2023 and the middle of last year.
