Saudi Arabia to host and organize the 25th edition of the World Petroleum Conference and its accompanying exhibition in Riyadh in 2026

Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman, Saudi Arabia's energy minister, and Pedro Miras, the head of the World Petroleum Council, have signed a memorandum of agreement outlining Saudi Arabia's preparations to host the 25th iteration of the conference in 2026. The declaration follows the World Petroleum Conference organising committee's acceptance of Saudi Arabia's request to host and coordinate the conference's 25th edition and related exhibition in Riyadh in 2026. This important choice was taken last October in Almaty, Kazakhstan, at the World Petroleum Council's Youth Conference.

Significant international support was given to Saudi Arabia's quest to host the conference, with the Ministry of Energy playing a key role in the selection procedure. Every three years, the World Petroleum Conference and its companion exhibition are significant international gatherings that bring together nations and international organisations to promote collaboration across diverse energy sectors and address significant issues facing this vital industry. As a result, these incidents receive a lot of attention from professionals, journalists, and the general public.

The conference is organised by the World Petroleum Council, which was founded in 1933 and offers a fair forum for participants from all around the world to debate the oil and gas industry. The council's main goals are to promote the sustainable use of petroleum resources globally for the benefit of everyone, facilitate technological transfer, and harness scientific developments within the oil and gas industry.

Currently, Saudi Arabia is actively taking part in the 24th World Petroleum Conference, which will take place in Calgary, Canada, from September 17 to 21, 2023, through the Ministry of Energy.
