Saudi Arabia to host the largest awards in the history of international falcon competitions from December 28 to January 5

The official SPA news agency announced on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia would hold the biggest prizes in the history of international falcon contests from December 28 to January 5. The inaugural AlUla Falcon Cup, with prizes totaling SR60 million ($16 million), is being planned in the historic governorate by the Saudi Falcons Club in collaboration with the Royal Commission for AlUla.

The most well-known local and international falconers battled for the titles of the Al-Milwah and Al-Mazayen contests during the recently finished King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival, which served as the model for the success of the AlUla Falcon Cup. As the largest falconry competition in the world in terms of participating falcons, the festival achieved recognition on a global scale when it was inducted into the Guinness World Records for the third time in its existence. 2,654 falcons in all, representing eight nations, took part in the competition.

With SR60 million in rewards, the AlUla Falcon Cup is the biggest competition globally when it comes to the value of its prizes. Selected local and foreign falconers compete in four tracks in the Al-Milwah and Al-Mazayen contests. It is a part of initiatives to honour the falconers' legacy, celebrate the Kingdom's true culture and activities, increase environmental awareness, save animals, assist local falconers, and support their continued skill development.
