The International Federation for Equestrian Sports (Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI)) announced in a statement on Sunday that Saudi Arabia has been selected to host the World Endurance Championship in 2026. The prestigious event is scheduled to take place in the AlUla Governorate, which is supervised by the Saudi Equestrian Federation and the Royal Commission for AlUla. The Kingdom formally filed its hosting candidature in September.
The members of the General Assembly of the International Equestrian Federation praised the efforts of the Saudi Equestrian Federation. Saudi equestrianism, which has effectively hosted significant competitions in the past, has achieved yet another milestone with this decision.
The AlUla Governorate is preparing to host the Horseback Archery World Cup in December in addition to the World Endurance Championship.
