Saudi Arabia will host the United Nations Environment Program World Environment Day in 2024

The United Nations Environment Programme announced Tuesday during a meeting in Nairobi between Saudi Ambassador to Kenya Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Salman and UNEP Executive Director Inger Andersen that Saudi Arabia will host World Environment Day in 2024.

World Environment Day being observed throughout the Kingdom demonstrates how important and successful the Saudi government is in the environmental sector, according to state news agency SPA. The annual celebration of World Environment Day on June 5 has grown over the past 50 years into one of the biggest global venues for environmental awareness.
