As per the announcement made by Saudi Arabia's health minister, 2,645 healthcare professionals from 56 countries have been given premium residency, also referred to as the "Saudi green card." The statement was made by Fahd Al-Jalajel on Monday, the opening day of the Global Health Forum in Riyadh.
In a statement, he added that the action was a part of larger initiatives to draw and keep outstanding individuals, such as physicians and practitioners in high-priority health specialisations.
The statement further mentioned the vital role these highly qualified individuals play in imparting knowledge and international experience to Saudi professionals.
The new residency holders, who fall under the Special Talent residence category, are granted a five-year renewable visa-free stay in the nation.
The premium residence permits people to sponsor spouses, parents, and children under 25 in addition to other advantages.
Additionally, they are able to do business, own real estate in the Kingdom, take advantage of airport immigration lines reserved for Saudi and GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) nationals, and travel freely between employment.
