Saudi Minister announced the launch of the 'Generative Artificial Intelligence for All' initiative

The 'Generative Artificial Intelligence for All' programme was introduced by Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Swaha as a means of enhancing digital collaboration and advancing artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. With this project, Saudi Arabia is demonstrating its commitment to developing ethical governance, AI research, and development. It is directed towards the member states of the Digital Cooperation Organisation.

The Saudi Data and Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) is leading the International Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), which oversees the programme. It is expected to be a major force in advancing AI ethics and supporting the development of human resources in the area. This bold decision was announced during the Third General Assembly of the Digital Cooperation Organisation, which was presided over by Bahrain and included high-ranking delegations from partner countries and observers in addition to representatives from the 16 member governments.

The 'GenAI for All' project harmoniously complements Saudi Arabia's continuous endeavours to uphold the objectives of the Digital Cooperation Organisation. It highlights the Kingdom's commitment to accelerating digital transformation and focuses on increasing digital inclusivity and prosperity. This project also marks a key milestone in Saudi Arabia's journey towards being a leader in the digital and AI sectors by emphasising the importance of supporting generative artificial intelligence for the benefit of the global community.
