Saudi Music Commission launched Saudi Football Trouq - a unique initiative dedicated to the documentation of Saudi football club chants

The Saudi Music Commission unveiled "Saudi Football Trouq" on Wednesday. This innovative project is focused on recording Saudi football club chants. The Saudi assets Preservation Society, a group recognised by UNESCO for its commitment to intangible cultural assets, is working with the commission on this project, which is motivated by the commission's commitment to preserve the Kingdom's varied musical and creative history.

According to the documentation and inventory methods established by the Saudi Ministry of Culture, the effort adopts a rigorous and scientific approach. The commission will produce an integrated archive called "Saudi Football Trouq" that contains club chants, pertinent news pieces, publications, and research and studies. It demonstrates how music impacts people's emotions and memories, with key milestones in Saudi football history being characterised by fan chants.

This endeavour goes beyond conventional documentation while highlighting the inextricable link between music, culture, and society. "Saudi Football Trouq" will give visual narratives that elegantly record the history of these teams via their beloved chants after conducting field surveys with fan associations of significant Saudi clubs, artists, sportsmen, and historians.

This effort has already achieved significant progress. 170 clubs from the history of the Kingdom were painstakingly inventoried during the first round of desk research. The commission will produce an integrated archive called "Saudi Football Trouq" that contains club chants, pertinent news pieces, publications, and research and studies.

In addition, 41 pertinent publications have been documented, and 835 visual, auditory, and textual components directly related to Saudi football team chants have been assembled. There is a also selection of topical articles and stirring pictures from games that echo these shouts.

The Saudi Music Commission's unrelenting dedication to safeguarding Saudi Arabia's rich cultural heritage is highlighted by the "Saudi Football Trouq" programme. It brings history, music, and collective memory to life by looking at the memorable chants of football clubs, confirming the ongoing influence of artistic expression in the formation of national identity and cultural legacy.
