Saudi Passport Office

This mission was assigned to Makkah Police Department in 1343 H., which took full responsibility for passports and resident permits (Iqama). A specialized system for passports and travelling procedures was needed to be put in place to streamline, define regulations and build-up diplomatic relations, social and commercial activities, arrangements for the Hajj pilgrims. 

The main achievements of the General Directorate of Passports:

Establish main administrations for passports around the Kingdom, establish sub-administrations for passports in main cities of regions, organize exit and entry of pilgrims each year through the Kingdom ports, implement the Electronic Saudi Passport System with high security specifications, implement Financial Systems to pay passport fees through banks, implement the Electronic Iqama System in Passports Administrations etc.
