The Saudi Super Cup, which will take place in the southern Asir district of Abha from August 13 to August 17, 2024, has been announced by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF).
The Saudi Tourism Authority, symbolised by "The Spirit of Saudi Arabia," the official identity of Saudi tourism, and the Asir Development Authority will work together to organise the tournament on behalf of SAFF. SAFF abandoned the plan to stage the tournament in China and instead chose to host it inside the Kingdom.
The competition will take place during the 2024 Asir Summer Season, which marked the beginning of the region's "Asir Tahawal" tourism brand. The semi-finals and championship game will be held at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The clubs that will participate are Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli, and Al-Taawoun, the reigning champions.
On August 13, the first semi-final match will take place between Al-Hilal, the King's Cup and Saudi Professional League champions, and Al-Ahli, who is currently ranked third. On August 14, Al-Nassr, the King's Cup runner-up, and Al-Taawoun, who is ranked fourth in the rankings, will square off in the second semi-final.
The winners of the semi-final matches will square off in the championship match on August 17.
