The National Transformation Programme (NTP) and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) collaborated to establish the ground-breaking National Data Index (Nudei). This initiative, which was unveiled at the Saudi Data Forum in Riyadh, is an improved version of the Open Data Platform and the Data Governance Platform. It represents a major step towards promoting openness, developing a data-driven national economy, and assessing the maturity of data across government agencies.
SDAIA President Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, Assistant Minister of Interior for Technology Affairs Prince Bandar Bin Abdullah, a number of ministers, senior officials from public departments, and representatives of significant domestic and international organisations and businesses were among the prominent guests at the forum. It seeks to promote government institutions to advanced assessment levels by providing enabling tools for assessing data management practises.
An improved open data platform is another component of the project that makes it easier for private citizens, official institutions, and non-governmental organisations to publish open data for business owners and other beneficiaries.
Additionally, organisations covered by the Personal Data Protection Law have to be registered through the data governance platform that was introduced in tandem with the National Data Index. It helps these organisations uphold the terms of the system, defend the rights of individuals who own personal data, and maintain their privacy.
Through a shortened process that entails completing the entity's profile, signing in through the national unified access platform, completing the registration form, and submitting data for assessment, government agencies can take advantage of the platform. The platform provides a number of services, such as privacy effect evaluations, legal help, alerts regarding possible data leaks, and a self-assessment tool to ensure compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law.
Through these innovative projects, Saudi Arabia is advancing digital transformation and strategic goals by using data and artificial intelligence to achieve substantial progress towards Vision 2030 targets.
