SDAIA and the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing launched a national portal to improve the Saudi urban landscape

NewsTo enhance Saudi Arabia's urban landscape, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing in collaboration with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) created a nationwide site. On Monday, the launch ceremony took place in Riyadh with the inaugural Global Smart City Forum 2024. In collaboration with the Ministries of the Interior, Municipal and Rural Affairs, and Housing, SDAIA is organising the two-day event.
In addition to improving quality of life, the platform seeks to monitor the manifestations of visual distortion, detect data, and analyse visual distortion using artificial intelligence technologies in order to meet the objectives of Vision 2030.
The forum, which began on Monday in Riyadh, is a two-day event that brings together a select group of international experts in the fields of artificial intelligence and smart city development to create a vision for the future of smart solutions in cities and to develop guidelines that will help them in their development plans for sustainable urban growth that improves the quality of life.
Majed Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing, emphasised Saudi Arabia's remarkable transformational journey in his inauguration address. This journey allowed the country to use data and artificial intelligence technologies to create a genuine and concrete effect on municipalities.
Speaking at the forum, Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, President of SDAIA, stated that the recent Hajj season saw a notable decrease in wait times at the entrance gates to Makkah thanks to the help of artificial intelligence and sophisticated analytics in traffic and crowd management. He said that the Ministry of Interior was involved in the implementation of this scheme.
