Set of guidelines issued by ministry for pilgrims while performing stoning ceremony

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has produced a set of guidelines for pilgrims undertaking the stoning ceremony, which outlines the dos and don'ts. The ministry issued a warning on its Twitter account against climbing mountains to collect pebbles and causing injury to others while conducting the stoning ceremony at the Jamarat.

On the tashreeq days, pilgrims were instructed to hurl seven stones at each of the three Jamarat. "The pebbles shall be small, and their sizes are not required to match," it stated. In addition, the government advised pilgrims to avoid crowding and stampeding when stoning the Jamarat. Pilgrims were also encouraged to closely stick to the stoning ritual grouping timetable and to avoid interfering with pedestrian traffic.
