The King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Saudi Arabia combines traditional Islamic architecture with innovative design to form a highly functional, sustainable and flexible building.

The stadium at King Abdullah Sports City is home to the two Saudi premier-league football teams that are based in Jeddah, AI-Ittihad and AI-Ahli. With 60,000 seats, the new stadium is far larger than any other in the country, despite the fact that football is Saudi Arabia's main sport. It not only facilitates larger crowds but for the first time enables the country to host events such as the AFC Asian Cup.
