Start of implementation work on King Abdulaziz Park was announced

King Abdulaziz Park is one of the main parks in Riyadh that is a part of the "Green Riyadh" initiatives. The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has announced the commencement of implementation work on the park.

Custodian of the Twin Holy Mosques Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's proposal led King Salman to rename the park "King Abdulaziz Park."

The project will take 36 months to complete, covering an area of nearly 4.3 million square meters. Its proximity to important locations like Princess Noura University and King Khalid International Airport sets it apart. Access to the park from anywhere in the city is facilitated by its connection to the train station.

The park features six different tree species patterns and a unique design that takes into consideration the surrounding environment.

The main attraction is the Botanical landscape, which occupies more than 200,000 square meters in the middle of the landscape and is home to more than 200 species of native plants grown in dense concentration.

Shuaib Al-Munisiyah, which branches off of Wadi Al-Sulay and intersects the garden at a length of over 11 kilometers and an area of over 770 km, was also beneficial to it.

Within the botanical garden, one thousand square meters are devoted to commercial buildings whose eco-friendly designs reflect their placement within the park, and there is a two-kilometer-long panorama route that looks over it. The remaining five design patterns are desert gardens, plains, plateaus, and highlands. These are created by selecting various plants and shrubs to increase biodiversity and provide a pleasing setting for butterflies, birds, and other wildlife.

More than two million trees and bushes will be planted in the park to afforest it, increasing the percentage of land covered by trees to 65%.

It will also help draw visitors and city dwellers because it has 30 sports sections and 24 kid-friendly play places spread out around the park.
