Studies are underway to link the Haramain High-Speed Train with the Mashair Train to serve the Hajj pilgrims

Saleh Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics, revealed that investigations are ongoing to connect the Haramain High-Speed Train with the Mashair Train to serve Hajj pilgrims. Al-Jasser told local media that the transport system and the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites were conducting extensive research to discover the best ways to connect these two roads straight via the centre region of Makkah.

According to Al-Jasser, the total number of passengers who utilised the Mashair Train this year was over 1.5 million, and additional trips will be run in the following days. The Haramain Train, which links Makkah and Madinah through Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City, Rabigh, played an important role in carrying pilgrims between the two holy cities; King Abdulaziz International Airport and Makkah, and Jeddah and Madinah.
