SWCC strengthens its leadership in the global desalination sector by achieving nine new Guinness World Records

NewsBy setting nine new Guinness World Records, the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) has strengthened its position as the industry leader in desalination worldwide. With a daily production of over 11.5 million cubic metres of desalinated water, SWCC is the world's leading producer of this product. Its innovative accomplishments in a variety of water projects are highlighted by these recent honours.
During the event, which was presided over by SWCC Governor Eng. Abdullah Al-Abdulkarim and Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli, SWCC received awards for its accomplishments, which included running the largest desalination plant in the world, located in Ras Al-Khair, with a daily production capacity of almost 3 million cubic metres.
In addition, it commemorated the existence of the biggest drinking water storage facility in the world, located at the Briman Strategic Water Reservoir, as well as the largest covered water reservoir in the world, situated in Riyadh.
Furthermore, SWCC was acknowledged for running the biggest mobile desalination plant, the biggest piped water transmission system, the largest multi-effect distillation desalination unit and the largest network of water reservoirs for the storage of drinking water. Among the honours was setting a record for the world's lowest desalination energy consumption—less than 2.271 kWh per cubic metre.
