The 4th AlUla Dates Festival opened on Friday under the slogan “Taste Our Pride”

Friday marked the start of the fourth AlUla Dates Festival, with the theme "Taste Our Pride. The yearly event, which is put on by the Royal Commission for AlUla, provides tourists with a taste of local culture while enhancing the regional and global economies. Through November 11th, there will be activities every Friday and Saturday. Making AlUla dates more well-liked and competitive in local, regional, and global markets is one of its key goals. That is consistent with Vision 2030's objectives, which include enhancing the Kingdom's status as the top producer of dates in the world.

There are two sections to the festival. There will be a date auction held in Al-Aziziyah district from 6 to 9 a.m. on each Friday and Saturday, between September 8 and October 28,

And, between October 13 and November 11, there will be a souq in Manshiya Market from 5 to 11 p.m. Visitors may meet farmers, producers, and craftsmen at these events, as well as sample some of the numerous date-based foods that are being served.

The commission also holds a number of seminars and workshops throughout the course of the two-month festival to provide producers and other interested parties the chance to advance their knowledge and share it.

The Saudi Dates Mark platform, a trademark given to the owners of farms, manufacturers, and other connected enterprises that fulfil the worldwide market criteria for food safety, also accepts registration from farmers. Some farmers from AlUla will be chosen to attend the event so they may participate in the 4th International Dates Conference & Exhibition, which will take place in Riyadh at the end of the year.

Over 2 million palm trees may be found in AlUla, which has 10,000 hectares of designated agriculture. Since the market for dates has recently grown, the area has increased its yearly production of the fruit to almost 90,000 tonnes. The Mabroom, Barni, Al-Helwa, and Medjool are just a few of the numerous types that call it home.
