The Building Bridges of Understanding and Peace Between East and West initiative launched by Muslim World League

The Organisation of Muslim Scholars' chairman and the Muslim World League's secretary general, Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, launched the "Building Bridges of Understanding and Peace Between East and West" project at the UN's New York headquarters.

Csaba Korosi, president of the UN General Assembly, Amina Mohammed, high representative for the UN Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Moratinos, and Arthur Wilson, special adviser on multiculturalism and religions at the UN, all attended the meeting. Al-Issa emphasised the necessity of fortifying the alliance in his opening remarks, stating that it is crucial to recognise the right of each civilisation to exist.
