NewsThe Grape and Pomegranate Festival will start on Wednesday in Al-Hokair Park with a variety of events under the patronage of Prince Saud bin Nahar Al-Saud, the governor of Taif. The festival aims to promote and encourage farmers to market their agricultural products while showcasing the variety of seasonal agricultural products available in the Taif Governorate.
The four-day festival features a showcase of grape and pomegranate harvests and products along with events on the festival stage. The celebration was organised in Taif under the direction of the ministry, according to Majid bin Abdullah Al-Khalif, director general of the ministry's branch in the Makkah area.
Hani bin Abdul Rahman Al-Qadi, the head of the ministry's Taif office, emphasised the ministry's eagerness to help farmers, urge them to improve output, as well as the significance of promoting their agricultural goods via festivals. Al-Khalif and Al-Qadi expressed their gratitude to the Taif governor for his support of stimulating activities to boost agricultural production and his interest in the development of the agricultural sector as well as for sponsoring the Taif Grape and Pomegranate Festival.
Among the famous fruits cultivated in Taif are figs, cherries, grapes, and pomegranates. Another popular export is roses, which are cultivated on more than 700 farms.
