The holy Kaaba was adorned with a new kiswa, on Wednesday morning. Kiswa is the cloth covering the structure throughout the year. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the work was performed by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques under the supervision of the body's President Sheikh Dr. Abdurrahman Al-Sudais. 200 professionals from the King Abdulaziz Complex for Holy Kaaba Kiswa carried out the replacement.
The new covering has four distinct sides as well as a door curtain. It's made using 850 kilogrammes of raw silk, 120 kg of gold thread, and 100 kg of silver thread.
