The JAX District opened a nine-day Ramadan Market, running from March 24 to April 1

A nine-day Ramadan market was inaugurated in the JAX District, which is well-known for having transformed from an industrial neighbourhood into a bustling creative hotspot. The market will be open from March 24 to April 1, 2024. 

As a component of the "Layali Biennale" programme of the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, the market will welcome guests after sunset, from 8:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., immersing them in a dynamic mix of gastronomic and cultural experiences. 

The JAX Ramadan Market is planned to be a community celebration of creativity that will include pop-ups, live music, and family-friendly events in addition to a variety of locally produced culinary treats. Traditional hot and cold foods will be available.

Apart from the delectable food options, attendees will be presented with a singular chance to investigate adjacent exhibits and see the studios and galleries of prominent Saudi Arabian painters, like Ahmed Mater and Muhannad Shono.

The market is a part of a larger effort to support the arts and culture of the JAX District, which also includes the ongoing "After Rain" Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale. The exhibition, which explores the issue of water's crucial role in maintaining life, has 177 pieces of art by 100 artists from over 40 nations.

"Alf Layla W Layla" by Rashed AlShashai and "Contemplation Effect" at Hafez Gallery are two other shows. Open studios in the area will provide guests a chance to interact directly with local artists and gain insight into their ideas and creative processes. 

Participating as well is the Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art (SAMOCA), whose "In the Night" show runs until May 20.
