NewsAccording to the Al-Watan daily, the Jeddah Mayoralty has plans to open a new zoo in the Jeddah governorate soon. The mayoralty's action is in response to a long-standing request from the people of Jeddah. Following the closing of a well-known zoo in 2007, the residents of Jeddah have been anticipating the inauguration of a new zoo for a number of years. The Beautiful Creatures Zoo was a privately owned animal park that covered 16,000 square metres. At the end of Tahlia Road in the Al-Rehab area, it was situated west of the ring road.
There were several reasons why the zoo was closed.
The main justification was that the zoo was situated on land that had been taken over for the Haramain High Speed Train Project.
The placement of the zoo in a residential area was another factor, as were objections from nearby homeowners.
Due to improper upkeep and cleaning, inhabitants of ponds for animals have been complaining about the release of foul odours and the proliferation of mosquitoes that carry dengue virus.
One of the most well-known animal parks in the area is Jungle Land Theme Park. However, the people of Jeddah claim that the park is distant from the city centre and that it is challenging for them to enjoy family outings, particularly on weekends. Theme park - Jungle Land, which opened in 1999, is the most well-liked recreation area in Jeddah. It is situated 32 km from the Jeddah city centre at Mersal Village on Osfan Road. 200 uncommon bird species and 1,000 different types of wild animals may be found in the park. With a total area of 104,413 square metres, it is one of Saudi Arabia's biggest adventure theme parks. The park can accommodate up to 15,000 visitors at once.
