The last crescent of the Grand Mosque on the minaret of Al-Fatah Gate has been installed

The last crescent of the Grand Mosque is now fixed on the minaret of Al-Fatah Gate by the General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques. As part of the continuing greatest expansion in the history of Islam's holiest site, the installation of man-made crescents on all the minarets of the Grand Mosque in Makkah was completed with the placement of the golden crescent.

The carbon fibre is coated in a golden hue to maintain its beauty and is thought to be extremely durable. To increase the crescent's longevity and rigidity, a premium iron framework was used for the inside construction.

According to the authorities, the crescent's base is two metres broad, its height is around nine metres, and the minaret is more than 130 metres.

Remarkably, two new crescents were placed atop minarets next to the King Abdulaziz Gate, the Grand Mosque's main entrance, in June of last year. Among the most notable elements of Islamic architecture generally and the Grand Mosque's highlights specifically are the minarets.
