The National Framework for Children’s Online Safety was inaugurated at the opening session of the 6th Saudi Family Forum in Riyadh

Ahmed Al-Rajhi, the Saudi Minister of Social Development and Human Resources, officially opened the National Framework for Children's Online Safety. During the inaugural session of the 6th Saudi Family Forum in Riyadh on Sunday, the project was launched in the presence of Minister of Media Salman Al-Dosari and Minister of Health Eng. Fahd Al-Jalajel.

Speaking during the event, Al-Rajhi praised the coordinated efforts being made to put into practise the National Framework for Children's Online Safety, which was created by the Saudi Family Affairs Council in coordination with UNICEF specialists.

He pointed out that this programme complies with international standards and offers a five-year national strategy for children's internet safety.

The framework is intended to protect people under the age of eighteen from online threats and is in line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. This programme is a component of larger initiatives to protect the welfare of the younger generation in the Kingdom and promote digital innovation.

Using the theme "The Saudi family in light of contemporary changes," Al-Rajhi gave the forum's opening speech. He said that the forum would help maximise the importance of the family in the development of the human being, including how it shapes his personality, behaviour, and aspirations for the future.

He also emphasised the Saudi leadership's strong belief in the value of the family, its role in society, and how the Kingdom's Vision 2030 will help to preserve family unity in the face of modern challenges.

In her remarks, Dr. Maimunah bint Khaleel Al-Khaleel, secretary general of the Saudi Family Council, said that through a balanced presentation of the most important topics related to various local and international changes and the accelerating digital revolution, the forum this year sheds light on the impact of contemporary changes on the family and its members, including women, children, and the elderly.
