The publication of "The Camel Through the Ages" and an exhibition on the animals were recently held in Riyadh at the King Abdulaziz Public Library

Princess Adila bint Abdullah, the head of the National Museum's consultative committee, Prince Faisal bin Abdullah, who delivered a speech at the ceremony, as well as ambassadors and the heads of a number of cultural and scientific organisations, attended the event.

The show, a collaboration between the Layan Cultural Foundation and the library, will end on June 2. It emphasises the long history of camel use and culture, as well as the close bond between people and camels.

The two-volume collection has several scholarly articles published by leading researchers from the Kingdom and outside. Published in both Arabic and English, it illustrates the history of camels and current discoveries in the Arabian Peninsula through pictures of archaeological treasures and artefacts from various worldwide museums.

The exhibition explores numerous facets of the history of the Arabian Peninsula, including the usage of camels, as part of the Kingdom's attempts to conserve Arabic and Islamic culture and legacy.
