NewsThe Transport General Authority (TGA) has inaugurated the second phase of its programme to localise and empower Saudi freight and logistics services. The event is being held in collaboration with the Saudi Logistics Academy (SLA) and a number of government and commercial sector officials. According to TGA, applicants and individuals targeted by the project will be trained through five qualifying programmes given by the SLA, as well as professionals from the training cadres with competence and high capabilities. The project to localise land freight brokers' offices aims to support national competences and equip them with available possibilities in various transportation services and activities.
TGA added that this is especially significant because freight brokers' offices have several chances and play a key role in growing and upgrading the services supplied. This is in addition to strengthening Saudi professionals' abilities for the role and function of the goods forwarder, as well as offering a certificate that represents a vital measure of the efficiency of the private sector.
The programme intends to support enterprises by identifying their human resource needs to fulfil the position of goods forwarder and growing their performance and skills in line with a training route that meets the labour market's demands in this industry. Workers at goods broker offices will also be included in the localization drive, with a 5-day training session.
