The Smart Cities expo will empower “cognitive living” in Saudi Arabia by showcasing innovative and intelligent solutions

About 85% of Saudi Arabia's population lives in metropolitan areas, making it the country with the fastest expanding G20 economy, according to the IMF. The country is also seeing a sharp increase in its urban population. The Kingdom's infrastructural environment is changing quickly in tandem with the growing population. The Kingdom's progress in urban and smart city development will be bolstered by the creation of the Smart Cities Saudi Expo, which will be held in conjunction with the Saudi Infrastructure Expo and the Global Water Expo in the following year.

By displaying creative and clever solutions, the Smart Cities expo, organised by dmg events, a trade show and event organiser in the Kingdom, will support "cognitive living" in Saudi Arabia and take place from September 24-26, 2024, at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

NEOM, a massive initiative headed by the Public Investment Fund, is Saudi Arabia's vision for future cities. NEOM combines robots, artificial intelligence, and human intelligence to build state-of-the-art, digitally sustainable, and cognitive cities.

Smart parking solutions, building automation systems, smart lighting and energy management, building security and access control, video surveillance and analytics, emergency response systems, public safety sensors and alarms, e-government services, citizen engagement platforms, open data initiatives, intelligent traffic management, electric and autonomous vehicles, and more will all be featured at the event.

The first-ever Smart Cities Summit, which will be addressed by influential members of the government and municipality, will take place in conjunction with the Smart Cities Saudi Expo. In addition, there will be consultants, master planners, architects, contractors, developers, and project owners in attendance.

Building on the success of the first Global Water Expo and the second Saudi Infrastructure Expo, the Smart Cities expo is set to debut in 2024. Majid Abdullah Al-Hogail, the minister of housing and municipal and rural affairs, sponsored the festivities. With over 275 local and international exhibitors from 26 nations, the exhibition drew over 15,000 people from the infrastructural landscape of the Kingdom.
