At a ceremony held on Wednesday at The Arena Riyadh, the Royal Thai Embassy officially opened the Thailand Mega Fair 2023. The Thailand Mega Fair will feature Thai goods and services from a range of sectors and industries in an effort to draw attention to Thailand's resurgence in the Middle East.The fair serves as another evidence of the two nations' close ties and cooperative efforts.
Head of the Federation of Saudi Chambers Hassan Moejeb Alhwaizy, Vice Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushait, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Al-Khuraiji, and Chairman of the Saudi-Thai Business Council Sami bin Abdullah Al-Obaidi were among the prominent Saudi attendees.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Parnpree Bahiddha, Labour Minister Phipat Ratchakitprakarn, and Thai Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Darm Boontham represented Thailand during the opening. The deputy prime minister of Thailand and the minister of trade from Saudi Arabia visited the fair after it opened and had conversations with vendors who had flown in from Thailand to present their goods and services.
Namfon Mekloy, also known as Salma, was one of the exhibitors who flew from Bangkok to showcase her store, Oud by Hawa. According to her, her store imports incense from Laos, Burma, and Thailand, along with oud and bukhoor.
The minister from Saudi Arabia conveyed the desire to keep up cooperative efforts to encourage and facilitate investment and trade, opening doors for the business community.
Thai businesses specialising in food commerce, supply chain partners, oud and fragrances, health and wellness items, and entertainment were among those present at the event.
The Thailand Mega Fair is open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. till December 16.
