The third AlUla Arts Festival is all set to begin from Feb. 8 to Feb 24; guarantees a splendid experience for guests

In the ancient city, the third AlUla Arts Festival is scheduled to start on February 8 and run through February 24. With an impressive list that includes immersive installations, live performances, photographic exhibitions, movie screenings, street art tours, flagship events, and hands-on workshops, the multi-artist festival guarantees an outstanding experience for guests.

The three-week programme seeks to highlight AlUla's function as a centre for cross-cultural dialogue and creative inspiration. It seeks to arouse curiosity, promote discourse, and establish AlUla as a leading hub for modern art and art incorporated into the environment, with the goal of resurrecting the age-old creative traditions of earlier civilizations.

Additionally, it will include the third Desert X AlUla, which takes place in AlUla's beautiful desert setting from February 8 to March 23. This event will once again include innovative contemporary artworks by Saudi and international artists.

The first-ever site-responsive exhibition in Saudi Arabia, Desert X AlUla, encourages everyone to participate in a creative interaction between local and international curators and communities. This exhibition is supported by Wadi AlFann, a cultural destination that will open in 2026 and feature permanent modern land art installations in AlUla's stunning desert terrain. Wadi AlFann is rooted in a curatorial vision inspired by the desert.

This year's festival attendees may take advantage of an exhibition by Saudi artist Manal Al-Dowayan as part of the pre-opening programme in Wadi AlFann. Her art documents narratives from the villages of AlUla, laying the groundwork for her ground-breaking commission, "Oasis of Stories."

Additionally, the Kingdom will be represented by the modern Saudi artist Al-Dowayan in the 60th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, which will run from April 20 to November 24. As part of the festival's main event roster, the exhibition "More than Meets the Eye" is also on display. With the help of well-known art collectors who want to re-canonize Saudi Arabian art history, attendees may examine modern and contemporary works by Saudi artists.

As part of the pre-opening programme for AlUla's contemporary art museum, which will open in early 2019, this documentary tells the tales of artists and contemporary art movements with a particular focus on the Arab world.

The background for workshops in palm weaving, ceramics, jewelry-making, geometry, 3D buildings, textiles, and other creative fields is Madrasat Addeera, AlUla's mixed-use creative hub. Culture vultures may also check out Design Space AlUla, which will debut its first show during the Arts Festival.
