Third edition of the Saudi Green Initiative Forum will be held on the sidelines of the 2023 COP28 on December 4

The Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) Forum's third edition will offer a special chance for a range of stakeholders to interact, exchange ideas, and display cutting-edge methods for tackling climate issues and promoting international action. The event, with the topic "From ambition to action," will take place on December 4 at Expo City in Dubai, during the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as the Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP28).

The meeting is expected to quicken international efforts to solve climate-related issues. An esteemed group of prominent individuals, climate specialists, top government officials, and CEOs will be gathered for the event to exchange perspectives and deliberate on further measures to tackle climate-related issues.

François Jackow, CEO of Air Liquide, Olivier Le Peuch, CEO of Schlumberger, and Secretary General and CEO of the World Energy Council, Dr. Angela Wilkinson, CEO of Standard Chartered, and several other Saudi government officials are confirmed speakers.

The agenda for the event will centre on a number of important topics, such as funding climate action, conserving the Kingdom's land and marine resources, developing and expanding renewable energy options, and the Red Sea environment.

Four event pillars—"Industrial Plays," "The Financial Architecture of Tomorrow," "Innovative Transitions," and "Coherence for Impact"—will be the focus of a series of panel discussions during the conference.

The workshops will cover important subjects such protecting the Red Sea, reducing desertification, advancing climate technology, scaling up renewable energy, sustainable urban planning, CCUS and hydrogen technology, and ESG investments. The SGI Forum 2023 will be a crucial venue for stepping up international efforts to solve climate concerns in the year of the global stocktake.

Apart from the forum, the Saudi Green Initiative Gallery will be accessible every day during the COP28 conference from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, with the exception of December 4th, which is the day of the SGI Forum. The Gallery will highlight the Kingdom's ongoing commitment to combating climate change by showcasing the variety of programmes and initiatives aiming to create a greener, more sustainable future.
