News EventThe third edition of the Saudi Media Forum will take place from February 19–21, 2024, in Riyadh. It aims to advance the media industry. Mohammed Al-Harthi, the CEO of the Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) and President of the Saudi Media Forum, made this announcement at a ceremony sponsored by the SBA to commemorate World Television Day.
Following the success of the first and second editions of the forum, SBA, in collaboration with the Saudi Journalists Association, is organising the Saudi Media Forum 2024. The third edition confirms the forum's significance and its useful role in fostering positive change, investigating cutting-edge technology in this area, and establishing a vital and productive community for the exchange of regional and global media-related experiences.
In addition, the event will strengthen Saudi Arabia's standing in the media by illuminating the most notable national and worldwide media experiences. Al-Harthi conveyed his gratitude to Saudi Media Minister Salman Al-Dosary for his assistance and consideration in all matters pertaining to the Saudi Arabian media landscape.
In order to fulfil the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places a high value on the media's role by hosting important forums and gatherings, he reaffirmed how crucial it is to stay up to date with global media. Al-Harthi emphasised that in order to have a good influence, communication bridges must be constructed and documented with all local and worldwide media outlets.
Al-Harthi stated that the Future of Media Exhibition, or "FOMEX," is a technological and media event that is part of the forum's schedule. It is thought to be the biggest exhibition of its type in the Middle East.
The FOMEX expo will include the most recent developments in the media sector together with contemporary television and radio production activities. It will also highlight the quick speed at which media is changing by drawing in top businesses and specialists in international production.
The event is also regarded as a chance for individuals who have a strong interest in the media, since it will feature several high-quality and specialised workshops led by professionals, scholars, and practitioners with expertise in a range of media-related fields.
Al-Harthi stated that the Authority was eager to involve the target groups in the forum and related exhibition because it feels that anyone with the ability and means to communicate with others can now spread media messages, as opposed to just media institutions as in the past.
The Saudi Media Forum Award, in its third edition, which is given out with each forum session, is presented to the male and female winners after the forum's conclusion.
The six categories of awards are: journalism; audio-visual production; scientific output in the media; digital media; innovation and leadership in the media; and media excellence award.
The Authority was eager to expand the categories of the recognition to encompass all media platforms in order to give more people a chance to submit someone for the award.
In order to foster fair competition between male and female innovators in this sector, the Authority believes it is important to recognise and honour people who excel in local and regional media work. This is why they have created this award.
Additionally, the prize encourages people and groups with media skills to showcase notable media works, which will help introduce Saudi Arabia's innovative experiences in the media and communication fields. It also serves as a thank you to the public figures who support the media, therefore expanding their visibility both domestically and outside the Arab world.
