Trucks authorised to carry goods can schedule an appointment utlising the service feature by Naql e-portal

In order for trucks to reach Riyadh and Jeddah within the banned time during the holy month of Ramadan, the Transport General Authority (TGA) announced a system of electronic appointment booking.

According to TGA, trucks that are authorised to carry goods can schedule an appointment using the (Entering Cities) service at the Naql e-portal.

To facilitate their movement during the ban period, the trucks will then approach the cities through designated lanes.

Along with organising and managing the flow of the trucks, the service will help avoid the build-up of trucks at the major entrances to the cities.

Additionally, it will improve the effectiveness and standard of digital services offered by the logistics industry.

Transporters can take advantage of the Naql e-portal's truck entry service to towns at bce.naql.sa, where TGA offers a variety of e-services that facilitate and support transporters' participation in transportation-related activities.

After the General Directorate of Traffic (Muroor) declared the hours during Ramadan when trucks are not allowed to enter Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Al-Khobar, and Dhahran, this mechanism was put in place.

The Muroor stated that during Ramadan, trucks are not allowed to approach Riyadh between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. from Sunday through Thursday, and service trucks are not allowed between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. as well as between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The trucks and repair trucks are prohibited from entering Riyadh on the weekends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., as well as from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Additionally, trucks are not allowed to approach on King Fahad Road, between Exits 4 and Algeria Square (DIRAB), north and south, and Makkah Road (Khurais), between Exits 13 and Al Safarat, east and west.

Trucks are not permitted to access the governorate of Jeddah from Sunday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with the exception of Thursday, when they are not permitted until 3:00 a.m.

Except on Saturday, when trucks are prohibited from entering until 1:00 a.m., vehicles are not permitted to enter Jeddah on the weekends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Garbage and water vehicles are exempt from the rule.
