Milaf Cola, a new beverage has been introduced in Saudi Arabia. This world's first date-based beverage, is said to be different from the traditional soft drink manufactured from corn syrup or cane sugar.
At the Riyadh Date Festival, Saudi Agriculture Minister Abdulrahman Al-Fadley and Bander Al-Qahtani, CEO of Thurath Al-Madina, a subsidiary of the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, introduced Milaf Cola.
The drink's creators assert that it is a sugar-free, healthier substitute for traditional carbonated drinks.
The cola is environmentally sustainable because the dates are purchased locally. This is in line with the Vision 2030 initiative of Saudi Arabia, which intends to promote locally sourced, sustainable goods and broaden economic, social, and cultural diversity.
