Jeddah Mayoralty issued strict terms and conditions for buildings on commercial streets in the city

NewsStrict guidelines have been imposed by the Jeddah Mayoralty for structures located on the city's commercial streets. Buildings on business streets are prohibited from having windows that don't comply with construction codes and from having visible apertures in the compound wall.
Additionally, it mandated that buildings situated on commercial streets have a separate staircase installed for the mezzanine floor and that the authorized basement parking places cannot be altered.
The requirements also include covering the sewage tanks, not having crumbling or incomplete compound walls, making sure that external stairs and car entrances are inside the bounds of the owned property, and building a ramp for individuals with disabilities and providing parking spaces for them in front of the ramp.
One of the requirements is that split air conditioners not be mounted on building facades. Satellite dishes cannot be mounted on balconies or building facades, and the exterior must be free of damage, rust, and cracks. Balconies should not be stocked with items, hung with laundry, or covered with materials that don't blend in with the structure's design and style. On the walls of the buildings, there shouldn't be any old, faded advertising posters or deformed text. Additionally, it is against the law to install restaurant chimneys on building facades and to set chimneys higher than two meters on commercial structures.
