NewsThe first stone park is being constructed by the Makkah Mayoralty on a 1,000 square metre plot of land. This is one of the park projects that the holy city's mayoralty is working on.
The mayoralty wants to create unique locations that combine local resources and sustainable technologies with natural beauty and local heritage, as well as use recycled materials and benefit from leftover stones from some projects in Makkah. Additionally, they want to improve the landscapes of parks and public facilities and achieve environmental sustainability. This also entails making the best use of the available resources, including natural and manmade materials, in an efficient, ecologically and architecturally balanced way.
Environmentally friendly materials will be used in the construction of the stone park, and additional amenities including picnic spaces, educational trails surrounding the stones, and kid-friendly play places will be added. Regular maintenance is less necessary because the sturdy materials used to make the rocks and stones are also easy to clean and preserve. With designs that account for variations in rainfall and temperature, they also enable adaptability to climatic concerns. At the same time, it is simple to alter some areas of the park.
