The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) has announced plans to build a new food manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia as part of an effort to increase domestic food production.
The plant would be located on a 117,000 square metre tract in Jeddah's Third Industrial City, according to the deal, which was signed on Sunday in Riyadh.
Key authorities including MODON's CEO, Eng. Majed Al-Argoubi, and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef attended the signing event.
The project's goal is to set up an automated manufacturing line using contemporary technology for filling and packaging materials, run by highly trained and professional national food industry workers. Hundreds of new employment, both direct and indirect, are anticipated.
The project intends to set up an automated manufacturing line with state-of-the-art technology, in order to package and fill products, run by highly trained and talented national experts in the food sector. Hundreds of new direct and indirect employments are anticipated as a result.
A central warehouse, an advanced laboratory, an administrative building, and a building for industrial services and amenities will all be part of the plant. In the first phase, a manufacturing capacity of 15,000 tonnes yearly is the aim.
By meeting local demand and exporting goods to neighbouring Middle Eastern and North African markets, this program also aims to improve sustainable food security in Saudi Arabia.
By creating food industry clusters in Jeddah's Second and Third Industrial Cities, MODON is supporting the food industry in line with the National Industrial Strategy. By establishing an extensive and encouraging ecology, these clusters are intended to strengthen supply chains and increase exports.
