NewsOn Wednesday, the 28th night of the holy month of Ramadan, more than 2.5 million worshippers, including Umrah pilgrims and guests, held Khatm Al-Qur'an prayers in the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
The Khatm Al-Qur'an prayers signal the end of the Taraweeh prayers at night when the entire Qur'an has been recited.
Over two million worshippers joined Sheikh Abdurahman Al-Sudais, who is the chairman of the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, in leading the prayers at the Grand Mosque.
The courtyards of the Two Holy Mosques, as well as the streets leading up to them, were crowded with worshippers.
The Saudi authorities offered a quiet, serene, secure environment for the devout to experience their high spiritual moments.
Sheikh Al-Sudais, who oversaw the prayers, pleaded with Allah Almighty to pardon all Muslims on this auspicious night and deliver them from the fire of hell.
He prayed for protection against all evil, safety, security, and stability for the Kingdom, its rulers, and all Muslim nations.
The Grand Mosque was crowded with worshippers from quite early in the day. The Grand Mosque's floors and plazas were all filled, and rows of worshippers reached out into the courtyards and the streets leading up to it.
