Saudi Arabia ranked 2nd among G20 countries in the United Nations Telecommunication Infrastructure Index

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has demonstrated significant progress in its digital infrastructure and the effectiveness of its government's efforts to support e-government, as evidenced by its ranking of second among the Group of Twenty (G20) countries in the United Nations Telecommunication Infrastructure Index (TII).

One of the main components of the E-Government Development Index (EGDI) is the TII, a composite measure that evaluates the state of telecom infrastructure development worldwide. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the EGDI assesses the overall effectiveness of nations' initiatives, with a focus on strong communication infrastructure that is essential to the implementation of e-government projects successfully.

Due to its ability to draw in foreign investment and promote innovation, telecommunications infrastructure is essential for promoting economic growth. Additionally, services in this area support social development, raise living standards, advance healthcare and education, and encourage sustainable development in the Kingdom.
