Saudi Arabia officially filed its bid to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034 during a ceremony held in Paris, France by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). A delegation headed by Yasser Al Misehal, the president of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), and Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, the minister of sport and president of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, along with two young athletes from SAFF-affiliated regional training centers, officially submitted the bid book on Monday.
SAFF took the initiative to include the two young talents in the official Saudi delegation that would submit the bid book. This is in line with the anticipated expansion of Saudi football over the next 10 years and is a reflection of the goals and desires of the Saudi people, who are passionate about hosting a world-class FIFA World Cup.
The official bid procedure to secure the hosting rights for the 2034 event has reached its third step with the submission of the bid book to FIFA.
Saudi Arabia, the only country competing to host this edition of the international athletic competition, on October 4, 2023, declared through SAFF that it would like to submit a proposal for the FIFA World Cup 2034. The official announcement of Saudi Arabia's bid campaign came next.
The Kingdom is committed and determined to host the event, as evidenced by the bid book submission that is currently underway. Following FIFA's official visits and a thorough assessment of the proposal, the country that will host the FIFA World Cup 2034 will be chosen on December 11, 2024.
