It was revealed on Wednesday that space tourism company Halo Space would conduct its next test flight in Saudi Arabia. The life-size prototype capsule Aurora, which will ascend to 30 kilometres above Earth's surface, will be used for the sixth Halo Space test flight in September, which is being conducted in cooperation with the Kingdom's Communications, Space and Technology Commission, or CST.
According to the company, the trip will be used to verify and confirm the integrated operation of all crucial systems created during the last three years. Since the beginning of the year, the CST has been collaborating with and assisting Halo Space, managing the test flight's preparations. In order to comply with all flying regulations, it has also been working with other governmental organisations, such as the General Authority of Civil Aviation.
The Kingdom's perfect circumstances for space exploration and its aspirations to lead space tourism, it added, were highlighted by the choice to locate its flagship operations base and final assembly location in Saudi Arabia.
Test flights of Halo Space's prototype capsule are a lead-up to the anticipated commencement of human flights in 2025, which will be succeeded by commercial flights in 2026.
