NewsThe Tawakkalna app from the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority gives users access to a number of digital services that might be helpful to them during the Hajj, authorities have reminded pilgrims.
Arabic, English, Filipino, Indonesian, Bangladeshi, Urdu, and Hindi are the seven languages that the software supports. It offers readings from the Qur'an, weather updates for Makkah and Madinah from the National Centre of Meteorology, the most recent information and alerts for pilgrims performing the Hajj rituals, assistance in determining the qibla—the direction in which to face the Kaaba for prayer—and prayer timings.
In addition, pilgrims may use Tawakkalna to show off their digital Hajj card (Nusuk), while Hajj workers can utilise it to get admission permissions to sacred locations. Travellers with a Hajj permission can apply for an Umrah permit through the "rituals" area, which also offers other services including a "Help Me" part, a crisis call feature, and a method to verify the qualifications of volunteers.
According to authorities, the app may be accessed in more than 77 countries, has 32 million users, and offers 315 electronic services. The yearly Hajj pilgrimage is scheduled to start on Friday, June 14, and end on Wednesday, June 19.
